Scotti Security Driver Alumni Association

Introduction
We have been conducting driver training programs for over 35 years, and during that time we have trained countless security drivers. In fact if it wasn’t for them there would not have been 35 years. Which leads me to the following, and by the way the following comes under the heading of “Why didn’t I think of this sooner.”

Scotti Security Driver Alumni Association
Over the next few months we will be creating a Scotti Security Driver Alumni Association. The association will be opened to graduates of the Protective Driving Program.

If you went through the Protective Driving Program and passed the course, you went through a difficult, and demanding training program. You drove through a series of carefully and scientifically constructed exercises – each of which was consciously designed to build particular skills. You’re driving skills were scientifically measured; no other training program does that. You reached a level of driving skill (measured driving skill) that very few have attained, and for that you should be recognized.

Here are some of the things we plan on doing with the Association:

  • Create a place to network with people who do the same thing you do. The Alumni will have a password protected section on SecurityDriver.Com.
  • We are preparing a blog for the alumni. I have no idea what a blog is, except everyone tells me it’s a great idea.
  • We are seeking support from the corporate community and vendors and will pass along savings to the members
  • We are creating a survey for security drivers, that once completed will be available to all members.
  • We are creating a logo and will have pins and membership cards available for graduates – plus a short brochure that explains what you had to accomplish to pass the course and become a member of the association.

Through our newsletter we will promote the Association and what it means to be a member.

For those who may need refresher programs we are setting up a tier system and an online educational program that will supplement the hands on training.

We will also use the association as a sounding board for products and hopefully recommendations for products.

A newsletter for Alumni only – access to our research on vehicle safety, accident prevention, and vehicle violence. We will be asking the members to contribute articles and/or their thoughts on driving, cars, and security.

Since we go back 35 years (before computers) we may not have a record of your attendance, if we don’t we will need to see proof that you have attended the program.

There is a three year limit for active status. If you went to the program between the years of 2005 to 2008, you are considered to be an active member. From 2004 back (we go back to 1974) you will be a member of the association.

There will be no fee’s involved – but that may have to change in the future.

I am open to suggestions as to what else we can do – keep in mind that this is your association – let me know what you think. Contact me at tonyscotti@securitydriver.com
