EXPLANATION – The Scotti Certified Training programs consist of a proprietary training and evaluation methodology developed and refined by Tony Scotti over the course of more than five decades. This methodology blends the science of vehicle dynamics with extensive research on human factors related to driving and best practices in adult learning to provide the knowledge and skills drivers need to recognize and effectively respond to a wide range of potential hazards while behind the wheel.
SCOTTI CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS – Please note that in order to alleviate any confusion all Scotti Certified programs are managed and conducted by Scotti Certified Instructors (SCI). All SCI are employed by Tony Scotti’s Vehicle Dynamics Institute (TSVDI).
THE SCOTTI CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR PROCESS – All SCI instructors have completed a rigorous and extensive instructor development program personally administered by Tony Scotti. The SCI process takes more than a year to complete. It is this exhaustive process which ensures that our students receive the most advanced, highest quality driver training available.
All Scotti Certified Instructors must be re –certified on an annual basis.
In order to maintain a valid instructor certification, upon completion of the instructor development program, every SCI is required to participate in an ongoing in-service training regimen, mentor by Tier One staff members, and conduct various research and development projects which encompass creating training scenarios that closely replicate real world incidents, integrating operational lessons learned with effective training techniques, evaluating the operational capabilities of various vehicles or equipment, and identifying or refining driver performance objectives relative to specific vehicles, operational environments and/or training scenarios.
INSTRUCTOR LEVELS
Tier One Instructors - The highest level of SCDI is Tier One Instructor. They have been conducting training programs and worked with Tony Scotti for a minimum of 10 years – They can use the principals of vehicle dynamics have design and implemented scenario based training programs in all types of environment. Have the proven ability to manage logistical and business operations on a global scale, and in the process maintain and have enhanced the Scotti methodology.
Tier One Instructors – Joe Autera - Larry Side - Tony Scotti
Tier Two Instructors – Scotti Certified Driving Instructors have all completed the Vehicle Dynamics Certification Process.
Instructor Qualifications
- Successfully completed the Tony Scotti Driving Vehicle Dynamics Certification Program
- Has been invited to attend and has successfully completed Tony Scotti’s Vehicle Dynamics Institute Instructors Certification Program
- Has conducted 300 Hours of documented hands on training under the supervision of a Tony Scotti Driving Tier One instructor
- Has completed an Adult Learning Program
- Has 40 hours of classroom instruction observed by a Tier One Instructor
- Has researched and written a white paper on Vehicle Dynamics and Training
