I have been conducting driver training programs for more than 35 years. During that time we have establish a method of instruction for lack of a better phrase called the “Scotti Method.” It is in reality not my method; it is a scientific and objective approach to driver training. The foundation of the “Scotti Method” is the laws of physics, so all the credit goes to Sir Isaac Newton. It has always been my opinion that using the law of physics is the key to developing safe and secure training programs – using this method allows SCDI to develop training programs that keep people from harms way.

Master Instructors
I consider Driver Training a profession, and have set a standard of instruction for any training programs conducted under my name. The highest level of SCDI is Master Instructor. The standards for our Master Instructors are high – very high. Reaching the level of Master Instructor is a long and arduous task. The training they have received is unparalleled; the certification process is rigorous, time consuming and technically demanding. The process takes years to complete. To reach the masters level of instruction is a full time occupation, with a never ending learning curve.

Under my tutelage Master Instructors went through a rigorous apprenticeship program which required them to conduct constant research on driving and security related topics.

So that there is no misunderstanding the Certification is to teach Tony Scotti training programs, using the “Scotti Method” of instruction. There are driver training programs that use my books, lesson plans, handout material, PowerPoint presentations, but they are not certified to teach our method of instruction. It is my opinion that it’s not the hand out material, or the track that is of importance, it is who is teaching that makes the difference. If a program is conducted under my name, and instructors are using my name as their credentials to teach, then they have to meet my standard of instruction, and be certified by me.

At this time there are only a handful of individuals that are qualified Scotti Certified Instructors, and a smaller number qualified as Master Instructors.

Master Instructors will have an identification card – if you are attending a program and the instructor says he is a Scotti Certified Instructor all you need to do is ask for his ID card – actually he will probably show you the card before he begins instruction.
