ISDA Member Spotlight – Mike Nossaman

mike-nossamanMikes’s experience in the profession dates back to the late 80’s early 90’s. At that time a group of like minded professionals got together and formed the Tactical Response Association (TRA). The association was made up of active police – military – government – corporate and private security practitioners. Mike came on board to manage the Association and within a few years, in the era of no emails – no social media, he grew TRA to about 800 members.

Under Mike’s guidance the TRA conducted Expo’s and Conferences, with the objective of creating a conduit for the different disciplines to Network and share knowledge.

Mike changed the name of the Expo’s to the  Tactical Response Expo or TREXPO. After a long run of incredibly successful TREXPO Conferences he sold TREXPO to Bobit Business, Media.

In 2007 Mike saw a need for a conference and association that represented the Protective Services profession, and created the Protective Security Council.  Which produced the Protective Security Conference (PSC). Mike employed the same Network and Educational model at the PSC’s that were a success at the TREXPO Conferences. The PSC’s were, and still remain, the largest gathering of EP Practitioners and Training Providers ever assembled in one place.

At the last PSC there were 22 speakers 8 of them were from Corporate Security representing the top Fortune Companies. The speakers represented all aspects of the protection profession. The 2012 PSC conference was where the EPIC conference was born.

The PSC has been on hiatus for the past few years, but Mike and a few other practitioners that were involved in the original PSC are contemplating a comeback.
