We (ISDA) try to present information to our members that assist them in the decision-making process. That assistance includes creating metrics on job opportunities available to the EP and Secure Transportation community.

ISDA Member Doug Smith has put together a podcast called “Countermeasures.” Countermeasures are tactics deployed to keep on mission in the face of adversity.

As we approach the end of Summer, and with September right around the corner, the ISDA has put together a list of recent books authored by ISDA members. Learn from Executive Protection professionals as they share their knowledge.

While doing some research on EP/Secure Transportation training, we ran across the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4). If you are involved in event security, I would suggest taking a look at their website and magazine (URLs below).

However, what got our (ISDA) attention is that they have a certification program – Certified Sports Security Profession (CSSP), which is accredited by ANSI.

I received Michael’s new book, The Protected. The Protected is a must-read for all involved in the Protection Profession.

This month our Spotlight features two ISDA Members Donald Sadler and Antonio Griffin. Don and Antonio work in tandem supplying Secure Transportation and Executive Protection Services in the State of Texas.

We have discussed the effects of cold weather on tires many times, but with the record-breaking heat across Europe and in parts of the US, we thought it would be an excellent time to discuss the effect of extreme heat on tires and vehicle control.

The question often asked on Social Media is “What training programs should I attend?”

Once asked, there are a significant amount of training programs suggested and advice given.

The day every parent dreads, the kid is old enough to drive and wants a car.

Among the most fear invoking events in a ‘parent’s life is the reality that their child has reached driving age.

This month ISDA member Aristides Gonzalez had the opportunity to pay it forward by teaching a course, in Houston, for teenagers who are in transition from high school to the College experience. Several Safety & Security topics were shared with teenagers and parents.

The course covered crime prevention, active shooter, responding to emergencies/crisis, and responsibilities as a driver.

ISDA member Tom Pecora’s Book “GUARDIAN – Life in the Crosshairs of the CIA’s War on Terror” is available for purchase.

These are the results of a 2017 executive vehicle survey sent to Secure Transportation and Protective Services practitioners. A new survey will be available in 2019.Practitioners who participated in the survey represent over 300 Corporations, plus the High Net Worth, and Private Security communities. Their job titles are Director of Security, EP Managers, Security Drivers and EP Specialist. This survey is a reflection of those with a substantial amount of experience in the Protective Services/Secure Transportation Industry. The average years of experience of those that participated in the survey are 15 years.Keep in mind that the survey indicates vehicles that are most commonly used, not necessarily the best vehicles.

There is a core group of ISDA members who offer training. Their training programs cover EP, Protective Driving, Self-Defense, Firearms Instruction, Nightclub Security and Tactical/ pre-hospital medical instruction.
