The Miscellaneous Ramblings of an Old Man Part 7

I wrote the first “The Miscellaneous Ramblings of an Old Man” in 2011, I was a young 72 at the time. I am now 79, which is the new 76. The “Ramblings” are, as the title would suggest, the random thoughts that enter the mind of an old guy. Mostly one liner’s that cover life in general, especially an old life, the profession, politics and anything else that enters what is left of the gray matter. I stopped writing them in 2013, not because there wasn’t sufficient material, CNN, and Social Media provides enough material for a book, I just decided to take a break. Some new ramblings

My ability to remember song lyrics from the 50’s and 60’s far exceeds my ability to remember why I walked into the kitchen

Time goes by quickly especially if you are standing still.

Experience is something you don’t get until just after you need it.

If you want the rainbow, you got to put up with the rain

“Indignation,” Marshall McLuhan once said, “endows the idiot with dignity.”

If your car could travel at the speed of light, would your headlights work? – From Steven Wright

If time is of the essence – I am running out of essence.

Don’t you think that after four to five decades of hiring EP Practitioners that the Corporate community might have zeroed in on what works and more importantly what doesn’t work? If interested in Corporate EP, I would advise all to take a look at their job requirements.

If you are average you will get an average job and or below average pay – it might be a good idea to find out what makes you not average.

The world and the job market keeps score –  hence, don’t you think that you should attend a training program that (drum roll please) – KEEPS SCORE.

Some older Ramblings;

I’m curious – when is old enough to know better supposed to kick in – I don’t think I’m there yet.

If you think that when you get old, there is nothing left to learn the “hard way” – you are wrong.

I’m so old I remember when Executive Protection meant protecting executives – WOW

Don’t mistake intelligence for knowledge. I have met many people that have more degrees than a thermometer but have zero common sense.

Facebook – The place where many have answers to questions that no one has asked.

If you want a career, I suggest taking advice from those who have one and posting on Facebook is not a career.

PLEASE!!! If you have been to only one training program could you stop saying it’s the best training program you have ever been too – you have only been to one.

I’m just curious – Is there anybody out there NOT doing EP Training?
